Indigo Shire Tourism Strategy 2018-2022 Industry and Community Consultation Workshops

NOT another workshop; this is a vital conversation.

We have ambitious plans for tourism and growth of our visitor economy in Indigo.  The Indigo Destination Game Changer 2022 is a new tourism strategy for Indigo Shire and it will be the framework for strategic direction and game changing recommendations on which resource allocations and actions will be based for the next 5 years.

You are a vital contributor to the development of this strategy and we need you to be part of the conversation.  The work ahead of us embraces whole of destination thinking; creating vibrant and sustainable destinations that are great place to live, work and visit.  What you say and think will influence the outcomes.

Urban Enterprise are leaders in Destination Management planning and have been engaged to deliver our Tourism Strategy, but such is the importance of your contribution and the strategic conversation we need to have with you, that Urban Enterprise are bringing Mark Olsen from Earthcheck to facilitate the conversation sessions, ensuring the time you give to this project is valuable and valued.

Mark Olsen is an internationally renowned tourism strategic planner.  He brings a wealth of hands on experience to the table, from some of the world’s leading tourism destinations.  EarthCheck is a market leader in the delivery of experience-led programs and has been at the forefront of developing and implementing experience development strategies for some of the world’s leading products and destinations.   Mark brings a depth of insight into the global and regional travel economy and the need to identify and offer signature experiences that set businesses and destinations apart from competitors, allowing visitors to connect with special places, people and cultures.   Mark does not run workshops, he drives meaningful, energetic conversations to identify and articulate the collective vision and direction to grow our visitor economy.

We have scheduled a number of workshop conversations in four of our key ‘town & surrounds’ destinations on different days and times, so please book your attendance at one of the sessions.

We will also be running drill-down sessions for individual sectors the following week as you will see in the schedule attached/below.

Sector-specific Drill-Down

Following on from the conversation sessions, the Indigo tourism team will work with individual tourism sectors to drill-down on sector-specific vision, direction and input.   Each Indigo destination has specific objectives, as do individual tourism sectors. Please come along to the drill-down session in your destination for the sector you operate in.   Your input is important and will inform how we work together to grow the visitor economy and create sustainable industry sectors.
