Indigo Tourism Advisory Committee
Indigo Tourism Advisory Committee (ITAC) is a joint initiative between Indigo Shire Council and the tourism industry. Its role is to provide a co-ordinated regional focus for marketing and tourism development and to advise Council on strategic tourism direction.
ITAC acts as the central body for all organisations and individuals involved and interested in tourism and to provide a unified approach to tourism development, management, planning and marketing on behalf of the tourism industry, community and Indigo Shire Council.
The committee's structure acknowledges the close working relationship between Council and industry. ITAC comprises of 10 members:
- 1 x representative Beechworth Chamber of Commerce
- 1 x representative Chiltern Tourism Association
- 1 x representative Destination Rutherglen
- 1 x representative Yackandandah Tourism Association
- 3 x skills-based representatives (from fields such as marketing, tourism research and product development)
- 2 x Indigo Shire Councillor representatives
- Indigo Shire Tourism Manager (ex officio)

Indigo Tourism Advisory Committee 2011/12 Festivals & Events Sponsorship Program
Applications are now open for the Indigo Tourism Advisory Committee 2011/12 Festivals & Events Sponsorship Program. The program is open to all tourism-focussed festivals and events in Indigo Shire, however priority for support will be given to festivals and events that have regional tourism significance and economic benefit. The Indigo Tourism Advisory Committee is a joint initiative between Indigo Shire Council and the tourism industry to provide a co-ordinated regional focus for marketing and tourism development.
