Join two of the best producers in the High Country, if not Australia, for an afternoon of learning, feasting and probably a bit of a laugh. Michael Frederick from Morrison Street Continental Butchers, the region’s market leaders in fine continental meat cuts, smallgoods and delicacies. Mandy Jones is a renowned winemaker from Rutherglen. Mandy also spent 14 years in Bordeaux to add to her two degrees in wine and a family history of winemaking stretching back five generations. Both Michael and Mandy are passionate about their products and how they are produced. Participants will learn how to make sausages at home with very basic equipment. Our chef Kate Akrap will prepare a superb three course meal, featuring sausages of course. A glass of sparkling or soft drink will be offered on arrival and Mandy Jones will talk about the wines she has matched to the entrée and main dishes.

Regional program of food & wine events which include the Harvest Celebration of Beechworth on Saturday 18 May, concluding with La Fiera in Myrtleford on the weekend Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 May. The High Country Harvest will include lots of regional events including a whole program Rutherglen will be putting on.

Held at the Stanley’s Old Store café. Many performers and displays throughout the weekend celebrating modern-contemporary artistic interpretations of our pioneering Australian history. Special Guest Dave Tree and showcasing Pete Denahy, Mandy Connell, Helen Begley - "Bastards from the Bush", Neil Higgins, Seamus Foley, Will Arnold, John Memery, Lazy Harry and Ricahrd Gray and Comedian John Walker.

Now in its 12th year, this annual visual art and photography display is becoming one of the region’s major arts events, featuring works from renowned artists and photographers and from the local region and across Australia. Two and Three dimensional works and photography are on show and all exhibitors are eligible for the Chiltern Art Prize of $1000, with prizes also awarded in each of the four categories including the popular Indigo Award for Young Emerging Artists. Opening night – Friday 7th June. Then daily between 10am and 4pm until Monday 10th June 2013. Cost: $5 per adult and children under 16 free for entry to the exhibition.

Held at the heritage listed Yackandandah Hall and entry fee is $7. Practice lessons are held every Tuesday night and entry fee is $3.

The annual Rutherglen Country Fair, one of the largest in the country, stretches the entire length of Main Street with over 300 stalls. There’s fun and entertainment for the whole family including grape treading, barrel racing and live music.
