Summer heralds a bounty of seasonal produce, from fresh cherries and berries to juicy apricots and peaches. Vegetables are at their most vibrant and colourful best and the assortment of summer herbs are fragrant and perfumed. To celebrate summer and the success of our Spring Farmers Market, we have decided to continue with the seasonal market theme by hosting a Welcome to Summer Farmers Market. With loads of fresh seasonal produce, gourmet foods and great coffee, it is the perfect time to come along and stock up on all the goodies you will need to celebrate into the New Year!

The Pfeiffer Wines Art Show celebrates the work of artists who have visited the winery and have painted, drawn, sketched or photographed a distinctive winery scene – be it the natural bush setting, the historic buildings or the century old wooden bridge. Visitors are also invited to participate in the People’s Choice Award by voting for their “pfavourite” artwork whilst at the winery. All original artworks will be for sale. A rodeo event affiliated with the Australian Professional Rodeo Association. Beechworth Rodeo is a great family day out with a full program of events including: Bull Ride; Saddle Bronc Ride; Bareback Bronc Ride; Barrel Race; Rope and Tie; Steer Wrestle; Team Roping and Breakaway Roping.The best riders in Australia will be competing with events running throughout the day and into the evening. There is also sideshow entertainment for the kids, trade stalls and lots of food and beverage options. In its 149th year in 2015 the Rutherglen Regatta is Australia’s oldest rowing regatta and in 2009 voted the most popular regatta in Victoria. Features two days of exciting rowing with events held every three minutes from 8am to 5pm. A special feature this year is the sprint four and sprint eight championships of Victoria. Held at picturesque Lake Moodemere five km west of Rutherglen on the Murray Valley Highway. Free event. Refreshments available at the regatta.

Australian Music Events is delighted to present Opera in the Alps, featuring David Hobson, Silvie Paladino and Opera Scholars Australia. The 100 voiced chorus and the Alpha Sinfonia Orchestra will again be led by the virtuoso conductor Guy Noble. Join us for a night to remember under the stars at the picturesque grounds of Baarmutha Park, Beechworth Gates and food/wine stalls open at 5:30pm. A day and night of music, good safe times, free camping and a complete sensory overload! Join us for a diverse range of alternative music, acts and artists to allow you to indulge in the soundtrack of this weekend. The second Beechworth Music Festival will be held in the beautiful rolling hills of the former Mayday Hills Lunatic Asylum (now decommissioned!). The stage is set at the bottom of the Madman’s Gully Amphitheatre with mountain views in the background and tree shaded fence lines.We want to provide a range of great benefits for all involved, from providing opportunities for young and upcoming local and regional bands, involvement by local community and business organisations, promoting the local and regional areas, operating ethically and above all providing some great alternative music and entertainment for fans.
