Registration from 08:30am, Race starts 10:00am, Sunday 27 April. The Kiewa/Tangambalanga Lions Club is orgainising a family fun run and walk. The family walk or run is along the Huon Reserve. Choose the 5km or 10km course. Walk or run along the Rail Trail that fronts the Huon Weir from the Huon Reserve to the Murray Valley Highway.

Weekend starts with a BBQ lunch at 1pm at the old railway goods shed, Railway Avenue. This is followed by a point of interest car run. (Cost $10 per car, BBQ Included) Then join us for the Cruis’n Back In Time Street Cruise from 4.30pm until 6pm. Any vehicle over 25 years old is welcome to participate in the cruise. Note that normal road rules apply, and any infringement of these rules will see vehicles removed from the cruise. Bring the family, chairs and sit and watch the Back In Time Cruise . The cruise will leave Harper Avenue at the corner of Albert Roadat 4.30pm and will continue until 6pm.On Sunday, static display of cars and engines or motors of more than 25 years old will be on Ford Street in front of the Historic Precinct. The 2014 event offers Vintage, Veteran, Classic and Modified Car and Motorbike owners the chance to mix with the locals and fellow enthusiasts for two days dedicated to your total enjoyment.

2014 sees the sixth annual "Highland Games at Amulet", and it’s is shaping up to be the best yet. Held at the Vineyard, this picturesque spot is the perfect setting for a celebration of all things Scottish. A family focused event that offers something for everyone with traditional Scottish games, pipe bands, Celtic sword fighting, haggis hurling, activities for the children and much more. There’s also a wide selection of the region’s best food, boutique wine and cider. Professional strongmen compete for the title of "Southern Highlander," massed pipe band parade and the local police and CFA face off in the "Guns and Hoses" challenge. Visitors are encouraged to dress for the occasion and don their kilts and family tartan with prizes awarded for the best dressed on the day. Tickets are $20 Adults, $5 School aged children, and $50 Family. Discount early bird tickets are available prior to the event in early 2014.

Five acts from the Melbourne Program will be featured. Guests have the option of coming for drinks before the show at the Rutherglen Memorial Hall at 7pm for the 8pm show. The inaugural BMF 2014 (Beechworth Music Festival 2014) will be held on 10 May at the brand new purpose built venue, The Madman's Gully Amphitheatre, in the former Mayday Hills Mental Hospital Farm. This new alternative music event showcases and supports a host of local and regional artists as well as some well established bands and acts, aims to provide some fantastic entertainment for our younger, under represented alternative music fans and involves the local community and business sectors on many levels. On the third Saturday of each month we hold our monthly food swap, recently moved to the new Yackandandah Community Garden (William Street, next to the swimming pool). At 9.30 am the produce starts rolling in and the swap finishes around 11:00 am. A wide range of produce is swapped each month, ranging from; leafy greens, garlic, onions, peppers, zucchini, olives, beans, seasonal fruits, preserves, seeds and seedlings, egg cartons and glass jars – even the occasional rooster, chicken and duck!. The list keeps growing as community members come up with their own creative ideas for tradeable items.The swap is a fantastic opportunity to learn about growing vegetables and fruit, share gardening tips or just have a cup of tea with new and old friends. Dates for 2014 – Saturday 15 March then 19 April, 17 May, 21 June, 19 July, 16 August, 20 September, 18 October and 15 November.

A cycling adventure in the glorious north-east. Calling all chaps, dandies and bon vivants, join us for a weekend of cycling revelry and high fashion in 'vintage' Rutherglen. Three leisurely stages of cycling through the picturesque countryside, dotted with three unforgettable epicurean experiences. The day will feature a memorable French inspired brunch, provincial 'pique nique' in the vines, and a little 'chocolat' to satisfy your sweet tooth to finish. Participants are encouraged to step out in vintage style (think tweed, plaid skirts, op shop glamour) and retro bikes will be more than suitable on this gentle 25km loop. Please note that helmets are required to participate in 'The Sweet Cycle'.
