Wahgunyah History Group's Heritage Day will feature the history and location of Wahgunyah's earliest wineries which were established during the 1860s. Early documentation and photos, plus a fine collection of early wine making equipment used at All Saints winery, plus awards on loan from the Andrew Smith Collection will be featured. Guest speaker, Ken Wilson formally from the Rutherglen DPI will be speaking and presenting early glass slides of the Wahgunyah Nursery showing the very important role the Nursery played in saving the wine industry from the ravages of Phylloxera. Other historic photos and maps will be featured. Light luncheon available. Gold coin donation.

This is an exhibition to get the pulse racing for any petrol head. Michael Laubli has combined his extraordinary imagination with his talent of sculpting with engine parts. Through Michael’s interaction with the world around him, he embodies a vast range of ideas into quirky forms using recycled car parts so people can connect and experience the essence that lies within each work of art. The exhibition opens 5.30pm Saturday 25 October and runs through until the 9 November 2014.

At the old Beechworth railway station is a mini food growing festival, pick up your ride map and free showbag from the Landcare tent, buy some vegetable seedlings and grab a local paddock to plate meal or fresh coffee from the pop up café. Learn the art of composting, espaliering, no dig gardening, raised beds, mini gardens, community gardens, pest management, seed saving, heirloom varieties, crop rotation and all manner of other little tricks that will inspire you to grow right with rosy cheeks! Open to anyone with a bike. Kids most welcome! Growing food at home is revolutionary. Tending, collecting, observing, harvesting, cooking & eating from your very own garden is the stuff of noble men and women! $10 adult, $5 kids, $20 family.
