The Albury/Wodonga Comedy Festival is an annual event that brings Australia’s top comedians to Albury, Wodonga and surrounding communities. In 2014, The AWCF travels to Beechworth for the first time. This comedy extravaganza will be on Friday 17th of October at the Beechworth Memorial Hall. The night will feature Tom Siegert, comedy legend Chris “Bloke” Franklin and will be headlined by one of the biggest names in comedy, Fiona O’Loughlin. Tickets are $25 pre-sale and $30 at the door. Don’t miss this huge night of laughs.

The Yackandandah Primary School community is thrilled to announce the inaugural running of the WAW Credit Union Hard Yacka. The WAW Hard Yacka is a community run and cross-country cycling event in which competitors will be invited to participate in one of two disciplines – A Mountain Bike ride of either 80km or 40km or a Cross Country Run of either 5 km or 10km. A Junior Hard Yacka (2.5 km run or 5 km ride) will also be on offer for all primary school aged children (from any primary school). Regardless of which course participants choose to tackle, they will be assured of an event that will challenge your endurance and test your resolve yet take you though some of the spectacular scenery that the Yackandandah area is renowned. All monies raised during the event will directly benefit the students and community of Yackandandah Primary School. Starting Times: Rides: 80km 8am & 40km 10.30am; Runs: 10km 12noon & 5km 12.30pm; Junior events: Run & Ride 1pm.
