St Joseph’s Catholic School Chiltern will celebrate and give thanks for what has been achieved in more than a hundred years of Catholic Education in the community.The celebrations will begin with the annual ball on Friday night. Barrie Cassidy, an old boy of the school, will be in attendance and will interview a handful of past students on their time at St Joseph’s. On Saturday the school will open its doors to visitors with photos and displays of times past. An afternoon ceremony will see the unveiling of several permanent St Joseph’s Storyboards, with a local historian providing a brief history of the school and the school children presenting several items for the enjoyment of visitors. A cemetery walk and more opportunity to catch up will follow as the afternoon progresses. On Sunday a Mass of Thanksgiving will be conducted at 10am with a picnic lunch to follow. Then a Time Capsule will be sealed and lowered into the soil and final thanks made.

This is an exhibition to get the pulse racing for any petrol head. Michael Laubli has combined his extraordinary imagination with his talent of sculpting with engine parts. Through Michael’s interaction with the world around him, he embodies a vast range of ideas into quirky forms using recycled car parts so people can connect and experience the essence that lies within each work of art. The exhibition opens 5.30pm Saturday 25 October and runs through until the 9 November 2014.

Wahgunyah History Group's Heritage Day will feature the history and location of Wahgunyah's earliest wineries which were established during the 1860s. Early documentation and photos, plus a fine collection of early wine making equipment used at All Saints winery, plus awards on loan from the Andrew Smith Collection will be featured. Guest speaker, Ken Wilson formally from the Rutherglen DPI will be speaking and presenting early glass slides of the Wahgunyah Nursery showing the very important role the Nursery played in saving the wine industry from the ravages of Phylloxera. Other historic photos and maps will be featured. Light luncheon available. Gold coin donation.
