Policies regarding heritage
The following policies and provisions of the Indigo Planning Scheme are applied when considering a proposal in a heritage place:
The Heritage Overlay and its Schedule provide details of when a property is affected by heritage controls and when a planning permit is required.
The State Government's heritage policy is contained within the State Planning Policy Framework of the Indigo Planning Scheme.
Council's overall approach to heritage is found within Council's Municipal Strategic Statement in the Indigo Shire Planning Scheme.
The Local Heritage Policy directs whether or not a planning application to alter a heritage building is appropriate.
